This reflection was inspired by an encounter I had last week. I was at a drugstore, I stood behind an elderly mother and her two grown daughters waiting for my turn at the checkout counter.
One was holding her mother’s hand.

Something stirred in me—a soft nudge—and I reached out my own hand.
The mother turned, saw me, and took it.

In that moment, something passed between us.
A current of love. A frequency of compassion.
We smiled through our tears—two strangers, now somehow known.

Maybe we’ve never met before.
But in that instant, I felt we had.

With my upcoming presentation for the Vietnam Veterans, and the nerves around it, that moment felt like Ba Noi—and maybe heaven too—reminding me I’m not alone, and everything’s going to be okay.

Later I realized, at the same time I was walking, my friend Pam was with her grand-dogs too. They were resting while she was writing about prisms—just a day after sending me photos of rainbow light. The synchronicity of it all felt like a shared whisper from the universe.)
